Hello,

Cloud storage is simply a term that refers to online space that you can use to store your data. As well as keeping a backup of your files on physical storage devices such as: external hard drives, USB flash drives, etc., cloud storage provides a secure way of remotely storing your important data. Online storage solutions are usually provided using a large network of virtual servers that also come with tools for managing files and organizing your virtual storage space.

Thanks,
Hruthika.

Hello

Cloud storage is a model of networked enterprise storage where data is stored in virtualized pools of storage which are generally hosted by third parties. Hosting companies operate large data centers, and people who require their data to be hosted buy or lease storage capacity from them.

Thanks

Physically, the resource may span across multiple servers and multiple locations. The safety of the files depends upon the hosting companies, and on the applications that leverage the cloud storage.

hello sir

A softphone is the general term used to describe a VoIP phone connection where software that is installed, is used to create a phone connection on a computer.  The PC acts as the phone with a virtual phone displayed on the screen.  A head set is generally needed for good conversations, one with both a microphone and head speakers.  Although softphones or a PC application phone are liked and used by many people, they have not as of yet taken off in the business environment, which still prefer more traditional phones.

Hello,
an application that enables a desktop, laptop or workstation computer to function as a telephone via Voice over IP technology that uses the cables of a computer network as the medium for transmitting telephone service. Equipped with a headset or a hand-held device, and using the numbers on the keyboard to dial, the computer with soft phone software can perform the full range of telephone features available through traditional systems, such as teleconferencing and call forwarding. Soft phones typically make use of the computer's sound card for audio input and output.

Hello,

Cloud storage means different things to different people depending on how itís implemented. The most common implementation is a Ďpublic cloudí, which is essentially storage capacity accessed through the internet or a wide area network (WAN) connection, and purchased on an as-needed basis. Users can expand capacity almost without limit, by contacting the provider, which typically operates a highly scalable storage infrastructure, sometimes in physically dispersed locations.

Thanks,
Geethu.

Basically, a softphone is a phone that lets you make calls over the internet from a computer or other smart device. As the name would imply, it is a piece of software that acts as a phone interface, allowing you to dial phone numbers and carry out other phone related functions via a screen (PDA or Computer) using your mouse, keypad or keyboard. Conversations usually take place through a headset or a microphone and computer speakers.

Hallo,

Advantages of cloud storage are:

* Companies need only pay for the storage they actually use, typically an average of consumption during a month. This does not mean that cloud storage is less expensive, only that it incurs operating expenses rather than capital expenses.

* Organizations can choose between off-premise and on-premise cloud storage options, or a mixture of the two options, depending on relevant decision criteria that is complementary to initial direct cost savings potential; for instance, continuity of operations (COOP), disaster recovery (DR), security (PII, HIPPA, SARBOX, IA/CND), and records retention laws, regulations, and policies.

*Storage availability and data protection is intrinsic to object storage architecture, so depending on the application, the additional technology, effort and cost to add availability and protection can be eliminated.

* Storage maintenance tasks, such as purchasing additional storage capacity, are offloaded to the responsibility of a service provider.

* Cloud storage provides users with immediate access to a broad range of resources and applications hosted in the infrastructure of another organization via a web service interface.

* Cloud storage can be used for copying virtual machine images from the cloud to on-premise locations or to import a virtual machine image from an on-premise location to the cloud image library. In addition, cloud storage can be used to move virtual machine images between user accounts or between data centres.

Hallo,

The disadvantages are:

1. Cost. Some cost money and some provide online storage for free but with certain amount of storage.

2. Potential that the company you sign up with closes or goes under and you've lost your backup. So make sure you sign up with a reputable company.

3. Potential that your account gets hacked so a hacker could access your file. Just make sure you have a good password. If someone hacks into your computer, your data is lost regardless if it's stored online or not as they have access to local data on your computer anyway.

4. Potential that someone hacks into the Online Storage company so your data is accessed by the hacker

5. You need an internet connection to backup your files or access the online backed up file. So if your internet is disconnected, you have no access to your backed up files. But remember they are only for backup purposes anyway so once your internet is back up and running, the client will send the updates of changes files to the cloud company anyway.

6. Backups to cloud storage can be slow depending on your internet connection.

7. Data Usage. If you have a lot of data but on an internet connection with limited data allocation per month (for example, your internet company only provides you with 30 GBs of data transfer per month), you could use up all your data allocation with your internet provider so it could cost you most if you go over that allocation.

Cloud storage services may be accessed through a web service application programming interface (API) or by applications that utilize the API, such as cloud desktop storage, a cloud storage gateway or Web-based content management systems

Hello,

Cloud storage is a service model in which data is maintained, managed and backed up remotely and made available to users over a network (typically the Internet).

There are three main cloud storage models:

Public cloud storage services, such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3), provide a multi-tenant storage environment thatís most suitable for unstructured data.
Private cloud storage services provide a dedicated environment protected behind an organizationís firewall. Private clouds are appropriate for users who need customization and more control over their data.
Hybrid cloud storage is a combination of the other two models that includes at least one private cloud and one public cloud infrastructure. An organization might, for example, store actively used and structured data in a private cloud and unstructured and archival data in a public cloud.
