First, You have to make sure service is running. To do it just go to Services /Configuration leaf in left VSM tree. In the upper part of window You can see label „Voip Switch Service status". Status should be "RUNNING".
If shown status is "STOPPED", you should press START button to start service. Status should change to "RUNNING", make sure service started properly. To do so go to "Services log" pane and make sure entry "Service started" is there (please make attention to set correct date in log filter).

Thanks.

In the traditional voice world, phones are powered by the PBX, which is usually powered by a back-up power source, which

can sustain the system through most outages.

One preventive measure to take is to put back-up power supplies on all LAN switches that connect IP phones and IP

PBXs. Most crucial to ensuring phone connectivity in an outage, however, is to make sure phones are powered over their

network connections. Vendors such as Avaya, Cisco and Nortel sell Ethernet switches that can deliver electrical power

along with Ethernet LAN connectivity.

Thanks

hello

As we've seen, on each end of a VoIP call we can have any combination of an analog, soft

or IP phone as acting as a user interface, ATAs or client software working with a codec to

handle the digital-to-analog conversion, and soft switches mapping the calls.

Thanks
