Hi,

The Java platform differs from most other platforms in the sense that itís a software-based platform that runs on top of other hardware-based platforms. It has two components:
1.Runtime Environment
2.API(Application Programming Interface)

Java platform is a collection of programs that help to develop and run programs written in the Java programming language. It has to be noted that Java is a dominant among other languages, though it has been criticized since its appearance. The main reasons lie in Java powerful traffic opportunities and its learning advantages. Also Android and Blu-Ray standard are built in Java. There is a good article on https://diceus.com/10-reasons-why-java-is-dominant/ that can provide you with more detailed information. Hopefully, you will find it useful and interesting!
