Hii,  :)
A secure server uses SSL (Secure Socket Layers) technology. This SSL technology is used to establish an encrypted connection between the server and client and provide privacy between the two communicating applications.

Hi,

A secure server certificate is a digital certificate issued to a Web server by a trusted certification service known as a Certificate Authority (CA).

A server certificate verifies the organization's identity to the client so that the client can securely browse the organization's Web site confident that:
The Web site belongs to said organization (not an imposter), and
Transactions between the server and client are encrypted.

A protocol known as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is most commonly used to encrypt information sent across the Internet.
Secure server certificates allow Web servers to establish SSL sessions with Web browsers.

Thanks

Hello,

SSL means Secure Sockets Layer which is a protocol used over the internet for securing transactions made between client to server. It basically acts like a tunnel between the server and you.
It doesn't allow others into the same tunnel, that way you are directly connected to them.
The data that is transmitted through that tunnel is encrypted and scrambled so that when the data reaches the destination, the receiver will know how to unencrypt it and piece it back together.

Thanks

Hello,

A secure server is a Web server that guarantees secure online transactions. Secure servers use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for data encryption and decryption to protect data from unauthorized interception.

What is A Secure Server?

A secure server is not necessarily more secure or safer to store data. The term only implies that the transmission of data between the user and the server is encrypted so it is more difficult to intercept data such as credit card numbers or personal details.

Most shopping carts will use a secure connection to collect payment details from the customer. There are many little ques that show you that the transmission is secure, such as locking incons on the browser. You should look at the protocal in the url. The url should start with https:// which means that it is using a secure version of the hypertext transfer protocal.

If the url does not have the s in it, it is not a secure connection and it is not a good idea to enter any private information.

With everyone concerned about identity theft it is important to understand that just because the connection is secure does not mean the data is.

Most websites run a secure server on shared servers with thousands of other websites. Even though the data was encrypted while it was transfered, now that it is stored, there are hundreds of people with access to that data who are sharing the server with that website. In addition, the data could be stored anywhere and it could even be web accessible by an average surfer.

In many cases, stores will use a secure server making the user comfortable with the transaction, then the program siply e-mails the credit card details to the merchnat over an insecure connection in a very insecure e-mail.

In that case, the data is accessible to any virus program in the merchnat computer. That is how many of the identities are stolen.

People often accuse merchants of using their cards since purchases are made after the user buys from that merchant. But the truth is the merchant is not stealing your card, they are just incompetent and they have not safeguarded the data the way you expect.

In 90% of the cases, it is not safe to purchase online from a merchant that runs their own secure server.

You should always buy from merchants that use comercial solutions like pagebuzz's e-commerce-inc.com, yahoo or paypal. These companies run data systems outside the actual websites and have decades of experience safeguarding data.

In choosing a secure server, don't even bother trying to run your own. Without a dedicated server, it is just pointless to thing the data is safe.

People are getting more and more web savvy and they wont buy from something they don't feel safe with.

Systems like e-commerce-inc.com have been processing credit cards exclusively for more than a decade and have the highest level of security available. Using a system like that can cost you much less than trying to run your own server and it will be much safer as well have being fully supported.

Too many preople try to do it all themselves. But making a mistake with someones credit card details can cost you your merchant account and put you out of business fast.

When it comes to secure servers, let the professionals help you and keep your e-commerce moving forward.

Hello,

A secure server is a Web server that guarantees secure online transactions. Secure servers use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for data encryption and decryption to protect data from unauthorized interception.

Secure servers are used by online retailers and any organization with a Web presence.
Servers provide a variety of internal and external user services in organizations, which are constantly vulnerable to security threats, due to data sensitivity.

Secure servers help organizations and businesses conduct secure and private network transactions. Until recently, e-commerce opportunities were often lost because of online user security concerns. However, the growth of online retailing has expanded requirements for security and measures geared toward preventing malicious attacks (like phishing and hacking).

Thanks,
Melby.
